Wipro is slowly building a strong presence in India’s growing pet care market. Last June, its venture arm invested $1 million in Goofy Tails, a digital-first pet nutrition startup. The pet food market is already big at around ₹4,000 crore and makes up almost 80% of the whole pet care industry. And it’s expected to keep growing, possibly reaching ₹10,000 crore by 2028.

Competition’s heating up, too. Reliance Consumer Products just launched its own pet food brand, Waggies, at ₹199 per kilo. There’s even a premium version, Waggies Pro, for ₹249 per kilo, and you can try it out with sample packs starting at ₹20. Clearly, everyone’s going all in.

Pet Parents Seek Safer, Trustworthy Options:

Pet Parents in big cities are paying attention. They’re worried about safety, quality, and price ,and they want brands they can actually trust. “If Wipro uses clean, safe ingredients, I’ll give HappyFur a shot,” said one pet parent from Bengaluru. Neha a beagle parent from Mumbai pointed out that with prices rising, trustworthy brands matter even more. Over in Pune, Mr. Gowtham a proud pet parent to two Cane Corso's said having bigger companies in the space actually makes them feel better about product quality.

People watching the industry think Wipro’s move could help set a higher bar in a market that’s growing fast but still feels a bit all over the place. If HappyFur really delivers on quality and transparency, it could end up being one of the most credible brands in India’s changing pet food market.
