Introduction to the Hanoverian Scenthound
Hanoverian Scenthound is one of the oldest and most honoured hounds of the German hunting dogs used due to its unparalleled ability in scent tracking. Its origins date back to the early Middle Ages, where it evolved out of the βLiam Houndsβ, which used to track down wounded game long before the introduction of modern firearms.
It received its modern name and standard form during the Kingdom of Hanover in the 1800s. The breed has not changed much in nature or ability and continues to be classified as an expert tracking dog.
