LuvIN

luvIN is a B2C pet food startup based in Mumbai, founded in 2020 by food technologist Ipshit Bhattacharya and his wife Meghna Bhattacharya. They started luvIN with a simple idea: bring fresh, healthy food to pets in India, but with a modern twist. Ipshit’s experience building food plants abroad and their love for their pets led to this venture, mixing tech know-how with pet care passion. From day one, luvIN has focused on delivering clean, nutritionally balanced meals for dogs and cats, using human-grade ingredients and minimal processing. Their product line now includes twelve items including fresh food, treats, and India’s first instant dog soup powder. Some of these products are manufactured in Europe and the rest is prepared in India. With such a unique idea, luvIN raised $300,000 (₹2.4 crore) in October 2022 through a pre-seed round. The funding was led by MV Nair’s Gujarat’s Possible Ventures, along with a strong mix of angel investors like Tanvir Ahmed, Siddharth Khemka, and Uday Shetty. They used that money to grow their product portfolio, ramp up marketing, and increase distribution across India. luvIN’s current game plan is to lean into its D2C (direct-to-consumer) strengths by selling online and building partnerships with pet stores and vets. They’re also looking to push more into tier-2 Indian cities, deep dive into customer feedback, and keep innovating with new treats and soup mixes. With a tidy product range, honest ingredient lists, and that soup innovation, luvIN is carving out space in India’s booming pet nutrition scene.
